General Terms and Conditions

1. Scope

• These general terms and conditions (GTC) apply to all business transactions between the translator and his clients, unless otherwise expressly agreed or legally required.
• The client's general terms and conditions are only binding for the translator if he has expressly accepted these.

2. Scope of the translation order

• The translation is carried out carefully in accordance with the principles of proper professional practice. The client receives the contractually agreed copy of the translation. The text sent electronically by the client must be confirmed in writing by the translator.

3. Client's duty to cooperate and provide information

• The client must inform the translator in good time about special forms of implementation of the translation (translation on data media, number of copies, external form of the translation, etc.). If the translation is intended for printing, the client must provide the translator with a proof.

• The client must provide the translator with information and documents necessary for producing the translation (client's glossaries, illustrations, drawings, tables, abbreviations, etc.)

4. Termination of the order

• Termination of the contract by the client before the translation has been completed must be made in writing to the translator. In this case, the translator is entitled to compensation for lost profits in accordance with the scope of the translation actually carried out up to that point.

5. Correction of errors

• The translator reserves the right to correct errors. The client is entitled to correct any errors contained in the translation. The claim for correcting the errors must be asserted by the client, specifying the defect in detail.

6. Liability

• The translator is liable for gross negligence and intent. Liability for slight negligence only applies if essential contractual obligations are violated.

7. Professional secrecy

• The translator undertakes to keep confidential all facts that become known to him in connection with his work for the client.

8. Remuneration

• Remuneration is due 21 days after the invoice is issued by bank transfer, crossed check or cash.
• In addition to the agreed fee, the translator is entitled to reimbursement of the expenses actually incurred and agreed with the client. VAT will be charged in addition to the final price if legally required. For extensive translations, a deposit or payment in installments may be required in accordance with the amount of text completed.
• If payment is not made when due, the client is in default without any further notification being required. From the start of the default, the translator is entitled, without prejudice to any further claims, to invoice the client for the costs of reminders due to continued late payment as well as default interest.

9. Retention of title and copyright

• The translation remains the property of the translator until full payment has been made.
  
• The translator reserves his copyright.

10. Applicable law

• German law applies to the order and all claims arising from it.
• The validity of these general terms and conditions is not affected by the invalidity of individual provisions.
